We're pretty straightforward about how we handle your info. No corporate jargon, just honest talk about data and privacy.

Look, we get it – privacy policies can be a drag to read. We've tried to keep this one clear and honest because that's how we'd want someone to talk to us. If something doesn't make sense or you've got questions, just give us a shout.
When you reach out or work with us, we'll collect stuff like your name, email, phone number, and project address. Pretty standard stuff, honestly.
If you're filling out our contact form or consultation request, we might ask about your project details – budget ranges, timelines, what you're hoping to build. This helps us figure out if we're the right fit before wasting anyone's time.
Our website also picks up some technical data like IP addresses and browser info through cookies. Nothing creepy, just helps us keep the site running smoothly and see which pages people actually look at.
Your information helps us do our job – responding to inquiries, scheduling consultations, sending project proposals, and keeping you updated on your project's progress.
Sometimes we'll send newsletters or updates about our recent work (only if you've said it's cool). You can unsubscribe whenever, no hard feelings.
We also use data to improve our services and website. Like, if everyone bounces from a certain page, we'll probably redesign it. Makes sense, right?
We take security seriously. All data transmissions are encrypted (that's the little lock icon in your browser), and we store everything on secure servers with restricted access.
Only team members who actually need access to your info can see it. We're not passing around client details at lunch or anything.
That said, no system's 100% bulletproof. We do our best with industry-standard protections, but if there's ever a breach, we'll let you know ASAP and tell you what happened.
We don't sell your data. Period. That's not our business model and frankly it feels kinda gross.
We might share info with contractors or consultants working on your project – structural engineers, landscape architects, that sort of thing. But only what's necessary to get the work done.
Legal stuff: if a court or regulatory body demands it, we'll have to comply. Also, if we merge with another firm or get acquired (unlikely but you never know), your data would transfer as part of business assets.
Our website uses some third-party services like Google Analytics and maybe a CRM tool. They have their own privacy policies that we can't control, but we pick partners carefully.
Yeah, we use cookies. Not the delicious kind, unfortunately.
Essential cookies keep the site working – remembering your preferences, maintaining security, that stuff. You can't really turn these off without breaking things.
Analytics cookies help us understand traffic patterns and user behavior. These are optional, and most browsers let you block them if you want.
No advertising cookies or creepy retargeting stuff. We're architects, not ad-tech people.
Under Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA and all that), you've got rights. Here's what you can do:
To exercise any of these rights, shoot us an email at info@nightvalorchapter.info. We'll respond within 30 days, usually way faster.
Active client data sticks around for the duration of your project plus seven years. That's partly legal requirements (tax stuff, liability) and partly because architecture projects can have long timelines and warranty periods.
Inquiry data from folks who don't become clients? We keep it for about two years, then archive or delete it.
Website analytics and cookie data are typically anonymized and aggregated after 26 months, per standard practice.
We're based in Vancouver, BC, and most of our data stays in Canada. However, some of our service providers (like cloud hosting or email services) might have servers in other countries, primarily the US.
When data leaves Canada, we make sure there are proper safeguards in place – either through providers certified under recognized frameworks or through contractual protections. Your data won't end up somewhere sketchy.
Our services aren't directed at kids under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
If you're a parent and think your kid somehow gave us their info, contact us immediately and we'll delete it. Honestly, we're mostly talking to homeowners and developers here, so this shouldn't be an issue.
We might update this policy occasionally – new laws, changed practices, whatever. When we do, we'll update the date at the top and post the new version here.
For major changes, we'll probably send an email to active clients. For minor tweaks, checking this page now and then is a good idea.
Continued use of our services after changes means you're cool with the updated policy. If you're not, that's your cue to get in touch and sort things out.
We're not lawyers (we're architects), but we'll do our best to answer or point you to someone who can help. Seriously, just reach out.
